In the event that the advertised position is filled by a current member of the orchestra, this newly vacant position may be offered to the runner up. Lots will be drawn at 9:00 a.m. Auditions will begin at 10:00 a.m. All of the following auditions well be held in Windsor.

Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - International auditions for Section Violin
Tuesday, October 7, 2008 - International auditions for 3rd Horn
Wednesday, October 8, 2008 - National auditions for Principal Horn
Season: 33 weeks, September to May, comprised of masterworks, chamber orchestra, contemporary, family, educational, pops and small ensemble services.
Remuneration: Master Agreement is under negotiation.
Currently:
Assistant Principal Cello: 220 Services guaranteed at $107.63 plus 7.0% pension.
Section Violin: 50 Services guaranteed at $102.50 plus 7.0% pension. (06-07 season offered 77 services)
Principal Horn: 150 Services guaranteed at $128.13 plus 7.0% pension.
3rd Horn: 50 Services guaranteed at $102.50 plus 7.0% pension. (06-07 season offered 72 services)
The musicians of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra are Canadian members of the American Federation of Musicians. Assistant Principal Cello auditions, Section Violin auditions (2 positions) and Principal Horn auditions are National; all applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Landed Immigrants eligible to work in Canada. Section Violin auditions (2 positions) and 3rd Horn auditions are International, and all applicants are eligible. Please note that Per Service personnel are eligible for travel compensation and hotel accommodations when necessary.
